Dhanush’s ‘OM: Chapter 1’ will not clash with ‘Jailor 2’? Discussion on changing release date intensifies

Tezzbuzz Desk – There is tremendous excitement among the fans about actor Dhanush’s upcoming film ‘OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram’. After the first poster of the film was revealed, its release date was announced as 16 October 2026. But now there are reports that the makers are considering postponing the release of the film, which may avoid the big box office clash with superstar Rajinikanth’s film Jailer 2.

There may be change in release date

According to media reports, the last schedule of shooting of ‘OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram’ is currently going on in Malaysia. It is being told that after the completion of this schedule, the film will go into post-production phase, which may take additional time for VFX and other technical works.

For this reason, there is a possibility that the film will not be released on its scheduled date of October 16 but will hit the theaters on a new date.

Big box office competition may be postponed

If there is a change in the release date, then Dhanush’s film will not clash with Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailor 2’. Earlier, there was a difference of only one day between the releases of both the films, due to which a fierce box office competition was expected between the two big films of South Indian cinema. However, the change in release date has not yet been officially confirmed by the makers.

Many big actors will be seen in this film being made under the direction of director Rajkumar Periyasamy. Mammootty, Naseeruddin Shah, Sreeleela and Sai Pallavi will also be seen in important roles in the film.

‘OM’ will be released in two parts

‘OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram’ is being produced under the banner of Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios. The music of the film has been composed by Sai Abhyankar.

It is a pan-India project, which will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. The makers are preparing to present it to the audience in two parts. The first part is expected to release this year, while the second part may hit the theaters next year.
