Kusha Kapila Denies Patch-Up Rumours With Samay Raina, Says Viral Photo Was AI-Altered

Actor and content creator Kusha Kapila has dismissed rumours suggesting she has reconciled with comedian Samay Raina, calling the claims “fake and seeded” and alleging that a viral image circulating online had been manipulated using artificial intelligence. The actor addressed the speculation through a series of Instagram Stories, where she also criticised attempts to spread misinformation and said such campaigns were aimed at undermining women.

The controversy began after several social media posts claimed that Kusha and Samay had patched up following their public fallout. Some posts alleged that Kusha had convinced Samay to invite her to his comedy show India’s Got Latent and suggested that the two had resumed spending time together despite their earlier differences. One of the posts also featured a photograph purportedly showing the pair together.

Responding to the claims, Kusha categorically denied the reports. Sharing screenshots of the posts on Instagram, she alleged that the photograph had been digitally altered by replacing another person’s face with hers. “Fake and seeded. My face is AI altered,” she wrote, questioning why anyone would spend time and money creating such content. She further alleged that the campaign was intended to “minimise women” and criticised what she described as the behaviour of sections of the internet.

In another Instagram Story, Kusha said she wanted to address each claim individually rather than allow misinformation to spread. She said the issue was not about creating online drama but about correcting false narratives. The actor added that she intended to respond with facts and reason while maintaining that the circulating posts were misleading.

Kusha also clarified the current status of her relationship with Samay Raina. She acknowledged that the two had differences in the past after she blocked him over jokes she described as insensitive. According to Kusha, the remarks deeply upset her at the time, and she believed they crossed personal boundaries. However, she said that while both have moved on from the incident, they are not friends. She also stressed that she has never appeared on India’s Got Latent and does not spend time with the comedian, rejecting claims made in the viral posts.

The fallout between Kusha and Samay dates back to 2024, when comedian Ashish Solanki’s roast show featured jokes by Samay about Kusha and her divorce from former husband Zorawar Ahluwalia. The comments drew criticism online, with Kusha later describing them as dehumanising. Following the controversy, she unfollowed and blocked both Samay Raina and Ashish Solanki on Instagram.

Months later, Samay had addressed the situation during a Reddit Ask Me Anything session, saying that although they no longer spoke as frequently, he still wished Kusha well. His comments had led to speculation that relations between the two had improved. The latest viral posts reignited those rumours, prompting Kusha to issue a detailed clarification.

The actor’s response has also drawn attention to the growing use of AI-generated and digitally manipulated content on social media. By alleging that her image had been altered to create a false narrative, Kusha highlighted concerns about misinformation involving public figures and the ease with which fabricated visuals can circulate online.

Kusha has maintained that the rumours linking her with Samay Raina are baseless and that the viral photograph is not genuine. She reiterated that she has no plans to appear on India’s Got Latent and urged people not to believe manipulated content shared on social media. Her clarification comes as discussions around AI-generated misinformation and digital authenticity continue to gain prominence online.
