Thieves broke the shutter of a jewellery showroom in Udaipur, Rajasthan and stole jewellery worth around Rs 1 crore. The incident took place in Hathipol police station area. The thieves raided a jewellery shop in Panchvati at night. They broke the shutter and glass of the shop and stole diamonds, gold and silver jewellery worth around Rs 1 crore and cash worth around Rs 10 lakh. The act of the thieves was captured on the CCTV camera installed there.
According to the police, Naveen Sarupiya, owner of Naveen Jewellers in Panchvati, had filed a complaint that thieves had entered his showroom between 12 am and 1 am on July 29. In the morning, Banshilal, who worked in the showroom, saw the incident and reported the theft. When the shop owner immediately reached, he found the shutter on the side broken and the glass door broken.
The showroom owner saw a CCTV camera recording, in which four men were seen coming from the drain at Panchvati Puliya. They were seen breaking the side shutter and breaking the glass door and entering the showroom. The thieves stole various types of diamond and gold jewellery weighing 390 grams, worth about ₹22 lakh, from the showroom. This included 4 chains, 1 bangle, 4 bangles, 95 grams of Ranihar, 15 grams of bangle, nose pin and rings, a mangalsutra, 97.2 grams of fine gold and other gold jewellery.
