The owner of a Singapore-based matchmaking agency linking Singaporean men with Vietnamese women is selling the business for S$99,000 (US$76,700) as he plans to retire after more than 30 years.
The 64-year-old owner, Mark Lin, said in a TikTok video on Monday that he plans to retire because of his age and is seeking a buyer for his business, True Love Vietnam Bride Matchmaker, located at Singapore’s Orchard Plaza mall.
Lin claimed he has operated the business for 37 years and has connections and resources across Vietnam, Singapore, the United States and Taiwan.
“I am passing on all my contacts and resources to my buyer,” he said, adding that he will stay involved for up to a year after the sale to help with the handover process.

Lin founded True Love Vietnam in Taiwan after spotting demand for the service from men in South Korea, China and Singapore in the early 1990s. He relocated the business to Singapore in 2002 with his first wife in search of better opportunities for their family, according to a 2023 report by the South China Morning Post.
The business has faced lawsuits from clients, which Lin said he successfully defended.
Lin said in 2024 that men aged 35-45 accounted for 60-70% of his clientele, compared with a larger share of clients aged 50 and above in earlier years, according to AsiaOne.
