Yemen airport becomes a battlefield! Saudi missiles fired at Iranian plane as soon as it landed!
New Delhi: Now the heat of war has intensified in Yemen amid Iran-Israel tension. Houthi rebels have alleged that Saudi Arabia carried out airstrikes targeting an Iranian passenger plane that landed at Sanaa International Airport on Monday. This plane belonged to Iran’s Mahan Airways. The attack occurred when the plane was about to land in Sanaa. After the blast, there was chaos at the airport and all landings were stopped immediately.
Runway attack, cloud of smoke!
According to Houthi-backed Al-Masirah TV, Saudi warplanes targeted the airport’s landing and takeoff runways. Locals of Sanaa heard loud explosions and saw jets circling in the sky. After the attack, a huge plume of smoke was seen rising from the runway.
Houthi army spokesman Yahya Sari said, "The Saudi enemy bombed Sanaa airport multiple times in an unjustified attack." He also said that it will definitely be answered and it will not be left unpunished.
Saudi-backed government claims: There were fighters on the plane
On the other hand, the Saudi-backed government of Yemen has taken responsibility for the attack. The government says that this was not a common passenger plane. According to him, it was carrying fighters of the Houthi delegation returning from Iran, who were returning after attending Khamenei’s funeral. Defense Minister General Taher al-Aqili wrote on X that the Houthis did not allow their Yemeni planes to land.

But tried to land the Iranian plane in Sanaa. This is a violation of Yemen’s sovereignty, hence the runway was targeted. After the attack, the Iranian plane landed at Hodeida Airport. Al-Aqili warned, "Our patience has ended. We will deal vigorously with any hostile aircraft that violate Yemeni airspace."
Stress may increase
Senior Houthi leader Hazem al-Assad also threatened a counterattack. he said "The Saudi government will realize that it has dug its own grave." There was relative peace between the Saudis and the Houthis in the last few years. Saudi had tried peace talks several times.
Earlier, Houthis had attacked Saudi oil bases, after which both sides had retreated. But after this attack on the airport, there is a possibility of tension increasing in the entire area once again. Iran-backed Houthis have announced retaliatory action, which could start a new conflict in Yemen.
