Shri Chaudhary said that the Bihar government is continuously making efforts to develop tourism infrastructure as per international standards. New tourist circuits are being constructed. Two big hotels are being set up in Patna, from which the state will get good royalty. Places like Rajgir and Bodh Gaya associated with Lord Buddha, Lachhuar and Vaishali associated with Lord Mahavir, the temple of Baba Hariharnath in Sonpur, and the temple of Maa Mundeshwari Mata represent our religious heritage. Apart from this, efforts are also being made to showcase the rich history of Valmikinagar, Bhimbandh forest, Nalanda University, and Magadha.
The Chief Minister said that Bihar Museum is the most excellent museum in the country, which even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited. People coming from outside are also seeing Bapu Tower and appreciating it. He also said that the quality of rural roads in Bihar is better than other states in the country. Basic facilities like roads, electricity, water are available in the villages. A ropeway is being planned from J.P. Ganga Path to Baba Hariharnath Temple in Sonpur. PPP model is being encouraged to promote private investment in the tourism sector.
Shri Choudhary also said that he is committed to fulfill Prime Minister Modi’s resolve of ‘Developed India’ and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s dream of ‘Prosperous Bihar’.
The Chief Minister described Bihar Heli-Tourism and Air Tourism Service Scheme-2026 as an important step in the tourism sector of the state, which will establish Bihar among the leading tourism states as well as provide new impetus to employment and economic development.
During the programme, the Chief Minister distributed dummy checks to the stakeholders under Bihar Tourism Policy 2023 and certificates under the Chief Minister Home Stay Incentive Scheme.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Tourism Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta, and Tourism Department Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh also shared their views.
In the program, Tourism Department Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh welcomed the Chief Minister and presented him a green sapling.
Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh, Secretary Civil Aviation Department Nilesh Ramchandra Devre, Director Tourism Department Udayan Mishra, and Managing Director Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited Nand Kishore along with other senior officials, stakeholders, beneficiaries and dignitaries were also present.
