When Munawar Farooqui was afraid of encounter! That scary night in Indore jail when comedians shivered after hearing the sound of walkie-talkie.

Popular standup comedian and Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui’s new comedy special ‘Dhandho’ has recently been released on YouTube. In this show, Munawwar has shared many unheard stories related to the most controversial and scary period of his life i.e. his arrest and jail days in Indore. Munawwar openly told how there came a time when, after listening to the atmosphere of the police station and the conversations going on on the walkie-talkie, he felt that his life was in danger and he thought that the police was planning to encounter him. That restless night of Indore lockup: When he could not sleep even for a moment During the show, Munavvar recalled the night when he was arrested during the show and taken to the police lockup. He told that when he had asked the police when he would be released, the reply he received was that he would be released in the morning itself. Spending the whole night in the lockup, Munawwar was under extreme stress and could not sleep even for a moment. The constant echoing of walkie-talkie sounds and unclear messages inside the police station had further increased his restlessness, making the atmosphere there quite scary for him. To divert his attention from the illusion of walkie-talkie and the fear of ‘encounter’, Munawwar started listening carefully to the voices coming on the walkie-talkie. After trying for some time, he understood that the message was talking about the accident of a Maruti car on the highway, but due to stress, Munawwar heard that "Farooqui has been hit on the highway." This confusion immediately created fear of encounter in his mind. He thought nervously that he had not committed any crime for which he should be targeted like this, and he was completely shaken mentally with fear. Lockup opened at 4 in the morning and the funny twist of Covid test. Munawwar also remembered that moment of relief when at 4 in the morning a policeman opened the door of the lockup and asked everyone to come out. The comedian, in his famously witty style, told that when he asked everyone to go together, he thought that perhaps now everyone would have an encounter together, which also gave him a strange ironic relief. When he sat in the police car Qualis and with folded hands he requested the policemen to "Please sir don’t do this" Then the policemen were surprised and asked what not to do? And then they came to know that all of them were not being taken for the encounter, but for the mandatory Covid test.
