Kejriwal’s front on E20 petrol controversy, started online signature campaign on StopE20petrol.com
Knews Desk- Amid the ongoing debate over E20 petrol, Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has started a campaign against the government. They StopE20petrol.com Online signature campaign has been started through the website. Through this campaign, people have been appealed to register their objection regarding E20 petrol by signing a petition in the name of the Prime Minister.
Kejriwal alleged that the government has implemented E20 petrol without adequate preparation, due to which vehicle owners are facing many problems. He claimed that people across the country are complaining about reduced mileage of vehicles, engine related problems and increasing maintenance costs.
People should get option to choose petrol: Kejriwal
AAP convener said that in a democracy, it is the responsibility of the government to listen to the problems of the people and take decisions in their interest. He demanded that options like pure petrol, E10 and E20 should be made available to the people at petrol pumps, so that vehicle owners can choose the fuel as per their need and capacity of the vehicle.
Kejriwal says that 20 percent ethanol is mixed in E20 petrol, which affects the energy efficiency of the fuel and can reduce the mileage in many vehicles. He raised the question that when the mileage is decreasing then there should be relief in the prices of E20 petrol also.
Cited the complaints of vehicle owners
He said that in the recent past, many motorists have shared their problems regarding E20 petrol at petrol pumps and service centres. Apart from low mileage, people have also complained about problems related to fuel pump, injector and engine. Due to this, additional expenses on vehicle service and repair are being claimed to increase.
Made three big demands from the government
Arvind Kejriwal has demanded from the government that instead of forcibly implementing E20 petrol, people should be given the option. He said that if E20 petrol is to be continued then its price should be reduced, so that the burden of increasing expenses does not fall on the general public.
He alleged that the government was ignoring the problems of the people and their concerns were not being addressed.
