India angry over the attack in Hormuz, gave strict warning to Iran… Will tension increase in West Asia?

Amid tensions in West Asia, the attack on two Indian ships—MT Al Bahiyah and MT Mombasa—in the Strait of Hormuz has left the Indian government deeply concerned. One Indian citizen has tragically died in this attack, while several others have been injured. Taking a tough stance on this incident, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has summoned Iran’s Deputy Chief of Mission.

the magnitude of the attack

There were a total of 30 Indian sailors on these ships. One Indian crew member of MT Al Bahiyah lost his life while another was injured due to the attacks. At the same time, out of 18 Indians aboard MT Mombasa, 9 have been injured, out of which the condition of two is critical. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the Indian Mission in UAE is in constant touch with the local authorities so that all possible help can be provided to the injured.

India expressed strong displeasure

The Ministry of External Affairs has unequivocally strongly condemned these attacks. “We have expressed our strong protest to the Iranian side. The targeting of commercial shipping and civilian infrastructure is completely unacceptable,” the spokesperson said. India has appealed that navigation on important international waterways like the Strait of Hormuz should be completely safe and unimpeded, which is essential for global energy and economic security.

Appeal for peace and diplomacy

India has suggested Iran and America to come to the negotiating table to reduce tension. India believes that the path of military conflict or aggression cannot bring peace. Diplomacy is the only option to maintain stability in the region.

international stir

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has announced that he is reimposing the Iranian blockade. He also said the US would charge ’20 per cent’ for the security of the Strait of Hormuz, although he clarified that international shipping traffic would not be shut down. India’s priority at present is to ensure the safety of its citizens and freedom of sea lanes under international laws.
