Targeting of ships in Hormuz should be stopped, India summoned Iranian envoy, Indian was killed in Iran attack this morning

New Delhi. India has reacted strongly to the attacks on two merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday morning. The Ministry of External Affairs summoned the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi and lodged a strong protest with India. Condemning these attacks, the ministry said that such attacks on international maritime routes should stop immediately.

According to MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, a total of 30 Indian sailors were aboard the two ships that were attacked. Of these, one Indian died, while 10 were injured. India has expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and wished speedy recovery of the injured.

India said that the increasing tension in West Asia is a matter of concern. He appealed to all parties to stop violence and adopt the path of dialogue and diplomacy. The Ministry of External Affairs said that safe movement of ships and trade on international sea routes like the Strait of Hormuz must be ensured at all costs.
