Green resolution of NTPC Rihand, target of planting 40 thousand saplings in Tree Plantation Mahayagya

NTPC Rihand actively participated in the state-wide tree plantation Mahayagya of Uttar Pradesh towards realizing the resolution of environmental protection and green future. The program organized under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Jeevandayani’ campaign was inaugurated by Sanjay Asati, Executive Director and Project Head of NTPC Rihand by planting a red sandalwood sapling.
NTPC officers, employees and their families enthusiastically participated in the program and planted about 300 saplings in the nearby forest area. On this occasion, everyone also took a pledge to protect the environment, increase green cover and take regular care of the planted plants.
Addressing the program, Executive Director Sanjay Asati said that merely planting trees is not enough, but their conservation and promotion is also our collective responsibility. He called upon all employees and citizens to plant more and more trees and take regular care of them.
NTPC Rihand has set a target of planting 40 thousand saplings in the nearby forest areas in this year’s monsoon season. The objective of this initiative is to increase green cover in the area, conserve biodiversity and strengthen environmental balance.
Forest Range Officer Jarha Rajesh Kumar Singh along with officers, employees of various departments of Forest Department and NTPC and their families were present in the program.
NTPC Rihand has set a target of planting 40 thousand saplings in the monsoon season. This campaign is being considered an important initiative towards environmental protection, climate balance and promotion of biodiversity.
