Chennai. She was one of the most recognizable faces of South Indian cinema in the 1980s. Playing alongside some of the biggest names in the industry like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Mammootty and Mohanlal, she seemed to be living every budding actor’s dream. However, behind this glamor was a sad story of deception, wastage of money and loneliness, which ultimately ended in his untimely death. This actress is Nisha Noor.

It is said that Tamil Nadu-born Nisha Noor entered films almost suddenly. She made her acting debut in 1980 with the Tamil film Mangala Nayagi and soon made her mark in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada cinema. In the 1980s and early 1990s, he acted in many famous films, including Tik Tik Tik, Sri Raghavendra, Kalyana Agathigal, Iyer the Great, Devasuram, Aval Sumangalithan, Inimai Idho Idho, Ilamai Kolam and Enkkaga Kathiru.

As the years passed, it is said that film offers became less and less. With her career slowing down, Nisha faced severe financial difficulties. According to several media reports, she was struggling to make ends meet and was receiving little help from either her family or the film industry.

Reports further claimed that she fell in love with a film producer, who allegedly took advantage of her trust. It is believed that he spent all her savings before leaving her, leaving her in dire financial straits. As her condition worsened, reports said she was forced into prostitution.

Years later, Nisha Noor was reportedly found living on the streets outside a dargah in Tamil Nadu. Once famous for her beauty and screen presence, she had become so weak that people could not even recognize her. It is said that a Tamil NGO rescued him and admitted him to the hospital for treatment. During medical examination, doctors reportedly discovered that she was suffering from HIV/AIDS. By then, his condition had deteriorated significantly.

Despite receiving medical care, Nisha Noor died of AIDS-related complications in 2007. It is said that she was only 45 years old.

Nisha made her acting debut with the Tamil film Mangala Nayagi. Later, she became popular with special roles in films like Chuvappu Nada, Mimics Parade, Iyer the Great, Devasuram, Ilamai Kolam, Enakkaga Kathiru and Kamal Haasan’s Tik Tik Tik. He also worked in films like Visu’s Aval Sumangalithan, Rajinikanth’s Sri Raghavendra and Balachander’s Kalyana Agathigal.
