‘If you tease Indians in Hormuz, the consequences will be bad’: India gives strict warning to Iran

The ongoing war between America and Iran in the Strait of Hormuz has now gone out of control. This route is one of the world’s most important arteries for oil trade, but now it has become a ‘death zone’ for Indian sailors. About 10% to 17% of Indian sailors are employed in the merchant navies of the world, and they have suffered the most in this deadly war. India has now made it clear that it will not tolerate any attack on its citizens. Be it Iran or America, New Delhi has proved its ‘no-nonsense’ policy at the diplomatic level.

Iran’s diplomat summoned

Recently, when Iran’s cruise missiles targeted UAE oil tankers ‘Mombasa’ and ‘Al Bahia’, killing one Indian sailor and injuring several, the Indian government immediately took a strong stand. The Foreign Ministry hurriedly summoned Iran’s Deputy Chief of Mission Mohammad Javad Hosseini. This meeting was not a normal courtesy, but it was made public in the presence of TV cameras so that Tehran could get a direct message of India’s anger. Anand Prakash, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs, said in clear words that such brutality on Indian sailors is intolerable.

America has also been taught a lesson before

This tough diplomacy of India is not limited to Iran only. In June 2026, when the US Navy attacked commercial ships in the Gulf of Oman and three Indian sailors lost their lives, India without fear summoned Jason Meeks, senior diplomat of the US Embassy, to the ministry twice. Even at that time, India had bluntly said that targeting civilian shipping and innocent sailors is not acceptable under any circumstances.

What happened in Hormuz?

On July 13, two destructive Iranian missiles fell on the tankers ‘Mombasa’ and ‘Al Bahia’ passing near the sea border of Oman. The explosion was so severe that the ships were turned into debris. An Indian sailor aboard ‘Mombasa’ died on the spot, while six Indians sustained severe burn injuries. Two days before this, Iran had attacked the ship ‘GFS Galaxy’, in which an Indian sailor is still missing. Till now, 14 innocent Indian sailors have lost their lives in this bloody game going on in West Asia. India’s patience has now completely worn out and the government has made its security policy more aggressive.
