New Delhi. Tensions between the United States and Iran appear to be escalating again. The White House has indicated that US President Donald Trump is considering options for further action against Iran. The US administration says it wants Iran to restore normal maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and adhere to the terms of last month’s ceasefire agreement.
However, there were no new US attacks on Iran last night. Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that two more oil tankers were targeted in the Strait of Hormuz. Kuwait also reported intercepting a drone that entered its airspace.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt alleged that Tehran has not adhered to the ceasefire agreement with the United States. She stated that even after the agreement, attacks on commercial ships and the loss of American service members occurred. She stated that the US considers this a serious security challenge and that President Trump will not hesitate to take necessary steps.

Speaking to reporters at Camp David in Maryland, President Trump stated that if the situation does not improve, the US will take strong action against Iran. He stated that his aim is to “achieve victory” and that more stringent measures may be taken if necessary.
During the conversation, Trump also mentioned the tensions between India and Pakistan. He once again claimed that his initiatives averted conflict between the two countries and that by raising the issue of tariffs, he played a role in preventing a potential confrontation.
However, the Indian government has repeatedly clarified that no third-party mediation was involved in de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan and it does not accept Trump’s claim.
