Maruti Suzuki YMC
Maruti Suzuki is working on its first 3-row electric MPV. It has been codenamed ‘YMC’. It could be unveiled to the world by the end of 2026. Sales are expected to begin in 2027. This car will be built on the ‘HEARTECT-e’ skateboard platform. Customers will be offered with two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh, providing a range of approximately 500 km on a full charge.
Toyota YMC-Based MPV
In partnership with Maruti Suzuki, Toyota will also launch its own electric MPV based on the same platform. This Toyota model will be mechanically identical to the Maruti YMC. However, its exterior and design will be completely different and new. This car will also feature the same 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs, capable of delivering a range of 500 km. Its cabin will feature features such as a 10.25-inch digital driver display, powered front seats, and ventilated seats.

MG Hector Hawk EV
JSW MG Motor India is preparing to launch a full-electric version of its new Hector Hawk around the festive season this year. This electric SUV will be based on MG’s ‘ADAPT’ platform. It will measure 4,745 mm in length and have a wheelbase of 2,810 mm. It will be equipped with a 56.7 kWh battery pack and a front-mounted electric motor, generating 136 bhp. The car will offer a real-world range of 450 to 500 km on a single charge.
Tata Safari EV
Tata Motors has begun testing its most premium electric SUV, the Safari EV, on Indian roads. It is expected to be launched around the festive season and will be based on the company’s new ‘Acti.ev+’ platform. The car is expected to feature larger 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs from the Harrier EV, offering a range of over 500 km on a single charge. Additionally, the car will feature Tata’s latest ‘TiDAL’ electronic architecture technology.
Tata Avinya 3-Row SUV

Tata Motors is developing a large three-row premium electric SUV under its new luxury electric brand, ‘Avinya’. This car will be completely different from Tata’s existing EV models, as it is being built on the Chery-JLR ‘Freelander EV’ platform. This luxurious SUV is expected to feature highly powerful battery pack options ranging from 65 kWh to 80 kWh. It will be produced at Tata’s new Panapakkam plant. This premium model is expected to hit the market by 2027.
