Cristiano Ronaldo and fiancée reportedly postpone wedding scheduled after World Cup final
In a conversation with journalist Piers Morgan before the World Cup, Ronaldo shared that he wished to win the tournament and get married afterward.
After Ronaldo failed to achieve the first goal, it is rumored that the second one would also be put on hold.
“Following Portugal’s elimination by Spain, Ronaldo reportedly feels that getting married on that date would seem like celebrating either someone else’s World Cup victory. As a result, the couple have decided to postpone the wedding,” wrote the football fan page Football & Witball.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have yet to respond to the rumor.

The couple initially planned to hold the wedding immediately after the World Cup to celebrate both career success and family happiness. However, Ronaldo’s World Cup dream was shattered by Portugal’s 0-1 defeat to Spain in the round of 16 on July 7.
The Portuguese superstar’s early exit also means FIFA has also lost one of its most powerful media and commercial figures. Ticket prices for the remaining matches of the 2026 World Cup are expected to fluctuate significantly.
His fianceé Rodríguez was born in 1994 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to an Argentinian father and a Spanish mother. She began ballet studies at the age of four, but had to stop because her family could not afford the tuition. At 18, she moved to Madrid to work in a retail store during the week and in a bar on weekends. Later, she found work in a fashion store and met Ronaldo.
Ronaldo and Georgina share two daughters, 8-year-old Alana Martina and 4-year-old Bella. The couple went through a difficult time when they lost their son Angel (Bella’s twin).
Beginning his professional career in 2002, Ronaldo boasts an impressive resume that includes five Ballon d’Or awards, four European Golden Boots, five Champions League titles, three Premier League titles, two La Liga titles, two Serie A titles, a career record of 954 goals and 143 international goals.
The 40-year-old superstar has confirmed that this tournament would be his final World Cup dance. He set many milestones at this tournament, including becoming the first player to score in six World Cups. He has 27 World Cup appearances, second only to Messi, and scored 11 goals, a record for Portuguese football.
A World Cup title remains the only major trophy missing from Ronaldo’s collection. He has won Euro 2016 and the Nations League in 2019 and 2025 with Portugal.
Ronaldo is the world’s first billionaire footballer. According to Bloomberghe has a net worth of $1.3 billion, mostly from his massive contracts in Saudi Arabia and with global brands such as Nike, Armani, and Louis Vuitton.
