Tom Holland confuses Matt Damon on the set of ‘The Odyssey’

Matt Damon has shared an embarrassing anecdote he experienced on The Odyssey set with Tom Holland.

The Jason Bourne actor recently appeared on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonwhere he revealed that during the shoot there was an emotional scene where he misunderstood Holland.

Matt explained that the scene featured him on a boat, while Tom stood at the shore.

While filming the scene, he noticed Holland doing a gesture, which he also started doing when the camera was rolling.

Damon explained that he saw the Spider-Man actor putting his hand on his heart “and so I started to do it, too. And at the end of the day, we reconnected and I was like, ‘yeah, that was Chris told you to do that put your hand on the heart?”

Tom informed Matt that his costume was choking which is why he was making some gesture to make himself feel comfortable. Both Matt and Jimmy started laughing while discussing the incident.

In his defence, the Oppenheimer star added, “From where I was standing I’m nearsighted. From where I was standing, I thought he was like saluting me. That It was like a father-son moment. Needless to say, it’s not in the final film.”

Starring Damon, Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattisnon, The Odyssey is set to release in theatres on July 17.
