The rules of the World Cup have been changed. Now two eliminator matches will be played before the semi-finals. Therefore T20 World Cup It’s going to be more exciting.

The new format was announced at the ICC meeting held in Edinburgh. The World Cup will be played in Australia and New Zealand from October to November in 2028. 20 teams will participate in this tournament and a total of 55 matches will be played. But changes have been made in its plan.

What are the changes?
According to the new rules, now there will be 5 groups instead of 4 in the first stage. Also there will be 4 teams in each group. Till now 5-5 teams were divided into four groups. The top 2 teams in each group will advance. 10 teams will play in the Super Stage. They will be divided into groups of 5 each.

The biggest change has been to the Knock Out matches. The top two teams from Super 10 will directly reach the semi-finals. The second and third place teams will play eliminators. England, India, South Africa Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland, Bangladesh have entered the 2028 T20 World Cup.

For the upcoming T20 World Cup 2028, big events have already started in the cricket circle. After 12 teams have been decided, now for the remaining 8 seats, the qualifying round will be played between as many as 16 teams. The proposal is likely to get final approval in the upcoming ICC meeting.
