New Delhi, August 01, 2026 – Air Marshal Tejpal Singh AVSM VM assumed charge as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff on August 01, 2026. On this occasion, he laid a floral wreath at the National War Memorial and paid tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the country.
The air marshal, who was commissioned as a fighter pilot on June 16, 1990, has over 3,500 hours of flying experience. He is a Category ‘A’ Qualified Flying Instructor and an Experimental Test Pilot. Air Marshals hold important operational, command and staff positions in the Indian Air Force.
In recognition of his outstanding services, the Air Marshal was awarded the Air Force Medal in January 2011 and the Distinguished Service Medal in January 2021 by the Honorable President of India.
Air Marshal Tejpal Singh has assumed charge as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff in place of Air Marshal Avdhesh Kumar Bharti SYSM AVSM VM who retired on 31 Jul 26 after rendering 39 years of distinguished and distinguished service to the country.
