Gurugram: An associate operator from the MNC was found hanging out of his house in Gurugram. He has been identified by the police as Sanjeev Yadav, a native of Amritsar, Punjab, who was living with his family in Gurugram.
Upon investigation by the police, his family members have alleged that Sanjeev and his wife had had a dispute, and the latter had asked for divorce. Police have taken his wife into custody to probe the incident.
The incident has come as a shock to the local community. “The family spent most of their time alone at home, and no one had thought that such an event would take place,” the locals said.
Sanjeev had been working at the company for some time and among his friends at work were known as a soft-spoken and dedicated employee.
The authorities said the story given by the family suggests that there were marital issues and the couple had been through a difficult time, and perhaps the demand for divorce compounded the strain. But, police said, final cause has not yet been confirmed and the case is still an ongoing probe.
For this reason, the wife is being interrogated to find out the real motive behind the events of that day. Police are also going through the phone records, messages and statements of close relatives to arrive at a more clear-cut picture. A detailed report will be made available after the postmortem report is ready.
Such incidents often raise difficult issues of mental health and related matters and feed questions about why people who show no outward sign of depression seem to be grappling with such issues, often tacitly, and are at the mercy of someone else.
