Why is KL Rahul not playing in the second ODI against England today?

Delhi:The second ODI between England and India is being played today in Cardiff, in which Harry Brook won the toss and chose to bowl first. In this match, a major change was seen in the playing XI of the Indian team. Ishan Kishan has been included in the playing eleven by excluding KL Rahul. Let us tell you that KL Rahul did not bat in the first ODI of the series held at Edgbaston. He was out after scoring just 1 run on the ball of Josh Tong. However, despite his short innings, Team India achieved the target of 259 runs brilliantly and won the match with 6 wickets in the 46th over.

Rahul out of playing XI due to ill health

At the time of toss before the second ODI, Indian captain Shubman Gill told that KL Rahul is not well, hence he is not playing this match. In his place, Ishan Kishan has been included in the playing eleven.

Gill said,

‘We performed well in every department in the last match and hopefully we will play the same today too. The fast bowlers had given a great start. We have good memories associated with this ground. There is a change in the team. KL Rahul is not well, so Ishan Kishan is playing in his place.
