UP Election 2027: Big initiative of Chirag Paswan, Ram Vilas Paswan
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) passed a resolution in its state executive meeting held on Wednesday, July 15, demanding to honor party founder late Ram Vilas Paswan and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) founder Kanshi Ram with the country’s highest civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’.
Patna: Amidst the preparations for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2027, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has passed an important political resolution. The party has demanded that its founder and former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) founder Kanshi Ram be honored with the country’s highest civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’. This proposal was approved in the state executive meeting of the party, after which it has been said that it will be formally sent to the Central Government.
Political analysts believe that in a state like Uttar Pradesh with social and caste equations, this demand is also considered politically important. However, no official response has come yet from the Central Government on this subject.
What did Chirag Paswan say?
National President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Union Minister Chirag Paswan told reporters after the meeting that the party has passed about 14 resolutions, the most prominent of which is to give Bharat Ratna to Ram Vilas Paswan and Kanshi Ram. He said that Ram Vilas Paswan made important contributions to social justice, rights of deprived classes and democratic politics.
Kanshi Ram did the historic work of bringing Dalit, backward and socially deprived communities into the political mainstream. The party believes that the contribution of both the leaders should get the highest respect at the national level.
The demand for giving Bharat Ratna to Kanshiram is not new
The demand for giving Bharat Ratna to Kanshi Ram has been raised many times before. Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has been demanding this honor for her political guru Kanshi Ram for a long time. In such a situation, Chirag Paswan reiterating the same demand is being considered an important development in political circles. However, Lok Janshakti Party has called it an issue related to social justice and respect for the deprived sections and not a part of any political competition.
The strategy for UP elections 2027 was also discussed
Preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027 were also discussed in detail in the State Executive meeting. The party has set a target of strengthening the organization in all 403 assembly seats of the state. Chirag Paswan clarified that at present the entire focus of the party is on expanding the organization and strengthening the support base.
He said that it is too early to discuss alliance or seat sharing. According to him, first the organizational position of the party will be strengthened across the state, after which the future election strategy will be decided.
What did you say about alliance with BJP?
In response to a question on the possibility of contesting the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chirag Paswan said that no final decision has been taken on this issue yet. He said the state unit will send its recommendations to the party’s Central Parliamentary Board. All decisions related to alliance and seat sharing will be taken at that level.
He also said that strong organization is the biggest strength in any political conversation. Only if the party’s support base is strong, it will be able to decide its election strategy effectively. Chirag Paswan said that organizational programs will be organized in various districts of Uttar Pradesh in the coming months.
National leaders of the party will visit the state from time to time and review the progress of the organization. He stressed that the first goal of the party is to strengthen the network of workers and increase its political reach to more and more people.
