Rahul met the families of Gopika, Roshni, and Vettri Anandan
Rahul Gandhi stated in a social media post that during his visit to Tamil Nadu, he met with the families of Gopika, Roshni, and Vettri Anandan.
According to Rahul Gandhi, these three young medical aspirants were in deep shock following the NEET-related incidents.
He said that these families have only one question: why should an honest and hardworking student have to pay the price for alleged systemic flaws?
“Behind every statistic, there’s a child’s dream”
The Congress MP said that the impact of alleged paper leaks and the resulting uncertainty in any exam is not limited to the examination process alone, but also increases the mental pressure on students and their families.
He said that behind every statistic, there’s a child and their dream. Along with them, there’s also a family that has pinned many hopes on their child’s future.
Rahul Gandhi said that the loss of families who have lost their children can never be compensated.
Rahul Gandhi raises questions about the examination system
Rahul Gandhi also raised questions about the transparency of the examination system. He said that his fight is for an education system that respects students’ hard work and conducts examinations in a fair and transparent manner.
He said that no student should have to compromise their future due to institutional flaws or systemic failures.
Rahul Gandhi stressed that transparency and trust should be paramount in examinations that are crucial to the future of young people.
“Students don’t need an apology”
Taking aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi said, “The Prime Minister talks about forgiving students. After listening to these parents, I am even more convinced that India’s students don’t need an apology.”
He further stated that it is the government’s duty to tell the students the truth, provide them justice, and apologize to them.
Rahul Gandhi’s statement comes at a time when political rhetoric continues regarding the transparency of NEET and competitive exams.
Congress attacks the central government
The Congress party has consistently raised issues related to NEET against the central government. Rahul Gandhi has previously criticized the government over the exam system, allegations of paper leaks, and the pressure on students.
Now, after meeting with affected families in Tamil Nadu, he has once again raised the demand for accountability and transparency in the exam system.
Rahul Gandhi said that his fight will continue for such an education system in which hard-working students get fair opportunities and there is no question raised on the credibility of examinations.
