Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is reviewing the role of more than a hundred employees amid the investigation into the Ram Temple offering theft case. The services of many employees can be terminated with action taken on the basis of SIT and police investigation.
Ayodhya: Amidst the investigation into the theft of offerings in Ram temple, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has intensified the review of the functioning of the employees. The role of the employees who came under the purview of SIT and police investigation is being investigated. Based on the investigation report, action is being taken against more than a hundred employees and services of many are likely to be terminated.
More than a hundred employees under investigation
After the case of theft of offerings in Ram temple, the scope of the ongoing SIT and police investigation is continuously increasing. According to sources, the investigating agencies are keeping an eye on more than a hundred employees and people associated with the trust. Most of them have been interrogated and their statements have also been recorded. If the role of an employee is found suspicious in the detailed investigation report, legal action along with termination of service can be taken against him.
However, neither the SIT nor the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has issued any official statement in this regard. At present the investigating agencies are collating all the facts and evidence.
Employees of private agencies are also being investigated
According to the information, staff have been appointed through several private agencies for security, office operations, locker management, cleaning and other services in the Ram Mandir complex. Employees associated with SIS, BPIS, BBG, Uni Point and other service providing agencies are also under investigation.
Sources say that the Trust is now identifying such employees who are not required in the current system. Questions are also being raised regarding the appointment of some employees. Such cases are being reviewed separately so that the administrative system can be made more effective in future.
Preparation to improve temple system
The SIT is not limited to only investigating the theft incident, but is also preparing suggestions to improve the administrative and security system of the temple. It is believed that the investigation report may include suggestions related to removing redundant employees, strengthening security arrangements and increasing transparency in the functioning.
In this sequence, the Trust has also started the work of identifying redundant employees. On Thursday, Trustee Mahant Dinendra Das conducted a surprise inspection of the Passenger Service Center and took stock of the arrangements there. When some shortcomings came to light during the inspection, clarification was sought from the concerned officials and instructions were given for necessary improvements.
Emphasis also on reducing administrative expenses
During the inspection, the Trust also came to the notice of such cases where more expenditure was being incurred on some services than required. For example, questions were raised regarding the contract given to a private company for the repair of wheelchairs and the work of the employees appointed under it. The Trust is now also reviewing such expenses, so that unnecessary expenditure can be reduced and better utilization of resources is ensured.
It is believed that after the final report of SIT comes, many important changes can be made in the temple administration. If any employee’s involvement is revealed in the investigation, then along with departmental action, legal process will also be adopted against him. At the same time, the objective of the Trust is to make the administrative system more transparent and accountable to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
