Mahindra’s Chakan plant completes production of 3 million vehicles, completes historic record with roll-out of ‘BE 6’

Mahindra & Mahindra Company has crossed a new historical milestone in the automobile sector. Mahindra’s main factory at Chakan has successfully rolled out its 30 lakhth vehicle. It must be said that this is a very proud moment for the plant, which was commissioned in December 2009. Interestingly, this 30 lakhth historic car is Mahindra’s upcoming electric car ‘Mahindra BE 6’. The move further underlines the growing importance of Mahindra’s ‘born-electric’ portfolio.

Production of 1 million cars in just 27 months

The most commendable part of this performance is Mahindra’s increased production speed. It took the company 107 months to produce the first 1 million cars. However, due to the use of technology and increasing demand, production of the last 1 million vehicles was completed in just 27 months.
