To make the prohibition law in Bihar successful and to keep the youth away from drugs, a program called “Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India” was organized at the Mandapam in Patna’s Lok Bhavan. At the event, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary spoke about the impact of the prohibition law and the changes it has brought about in society.
He stated that the government’s effort is not just to enforce the law, but to build a better society by keeping the youth away from drugs.
‘The Situation in Bihar Has Changed’
Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said in his address, “I know that people in Bihar worship more these days. They go to Deoghar, Banaras, Kushinagar. We know all this. But the situation in Bihar has changed. I want to say this. When we went out among the public as MLAs, we would experience that when we would meet people in the villages and when we would leave, two men who had come drunk would ask, ‘MLA ji, when did you come? You are never seen.’ I’ve been in the same village for an hour and a half, but because he was drunk, he didn’t know what to do.”
The effect of prohibition is visible in public places – CM
He further said, “Today I can definitely say this. Go to any corner of Bihar, there will undoubtedly be people drinking secretly. But in any public place, you will see the effect of complete prohibition and how the public is benefiting from it.”
The aim of the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikasit Bharat program is not only to stop the sale of alcohol, but also to make society drug-free and guide the youth in the right direction. The program appealed to them to stay away from drugs and play an active role in building a developed India.
Throughout the program, the message of creating a drug-free society was also conveyed to those present. The government says that continuous efforts are being made to make the prohibition law more effective through awareness campaigns and public participation.
