The month of August has begun on a banger note, as Bollywood’s Hrithik Roshan vs Kangana Ranaut saga has made a comeback in 2026. The long-running feud is back in the spotlight, all thanks to CJP spokesperson Saurav Das taking a dig at Kangana Ranaut after she called Gen Z “gutterchap” and said that when she was their age, she had already won National Awards. Responding to her remarks, Saurav took a sly dig, saying Kangana was “after his life” because, according to his friends, he resembles a young Hrithik Roshan.

Amid the CJP’s Saurav Das vs Kangana Ranaut row, Hrithik Roshan reacted to an Instagram post shared by influencer Freddy Birdy, which read, “The world owes an apology to Hrithik Roshan.” The post was widely seen as a reference to Hrithik’s years-long public dispute with Kangana, with many social media users claiming that the recent events had once again dragged the actor into the controversy.
Hrithik responded, “My friend, siding with ‘A’ just cause you don’t like ‘B’ anymore is a small part of the larger systemic issue plaguing our society. I’ll wait, for when the context to it is the right one, and motivated by facts. That would be fair. But then again, who cares anymore right?”
Kangana asks Hrithik to ‘stop adding fuel to the fire’
Kangana didn’t hold back. Sharing a screenshot of a news report on Hrithik’s recent comment, she wrote an open message addressed to the actor.
“Dear Hrithik, I am happy that you have found your perfect match, Saba Azad, and you both look great together. You are in a committed relationship and it doesn’t suit you to tease a woman like this.”
She went on to urge Hrithik to speak against people who, according to her, were allegedly harassing and bullying her in his name.
She added, “Instead, you should condemn all those who are harassing and bullying me using your name, stop adding fuel to the fire and embarrassing your partner. Hope better sense prevails and you stop making unreasonable comments…”
Apart from targeting the protesters, Kangana also questioned CJP leader Saurav Das’ identity as a student, compared his achievements with her own career milestones, and called him “useless”.
This prompted Saurav to respond while also comparing himself to Hrithik Roshan. Speaking to Barkha Dutt on The Mojo Story, he said, “My friends were texting me and asking, ‘Why is she after your life?’ One of them said that I may look a little like a young Hrithik Roshan. This is what my friends told me. I was pleasantly surprised. Why should someone like her attack someone like me?”
Saurav’s statement sparked the “We need to apologise to Hrithik Roshan” trend on social media, with many users referencing the legal dispute between the two actors in 2016.
What was the dispute between Kangana and Hrithik?
For the unversed, Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut were allegedly in a relationship during the shooting of the 2013 film Krrish 3. The duo were rumoured to have started dating while working on the film.
In early 2016, Kangana Ranaut referred to Hrithik Roshan as a “silly ex” during an interview, implying that they had shared a past romantic relationship. Hrithik denied the claim and sent a legal notice to Kangana demanding a public apology, alleging that the statement had damaged his reputation. Kangana refused to apologise and instead issued a counter-notice.
A year after the release of Krrish 3, Hrithik had parted ways with his wife, Sussanne Khan.
Back in 2016, Kangana told Pinkvilla, “I don’t know why exes do silly things to get your attention. For me, that chapter is over and I don’t dig graves.”
Hrithik then posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating that he was never in a relationship with Kangana. He wrote, “There are more chances of me having had an affair with the Pope than any of the (I’m sure wonderful) women the media has been naming. Thanks, but no thanks.”
Kangana sent a counter-notice accusing Hrithik of intimidation. She maintained that they were in a relationship and even claimed that they were planning to get married.
