Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is currently participating in a relief effort to help flood-affected people in Assam. He, along with the Global Sikhs organization, is delivering food, rations, and other essential items to needy families in Sivasagar district. The devastating floods in Assam have claimed 82 lives so far, while millions have been affected.
Food served at langar, relief material also distributed
On Saturday, Randeep Hooda distributed relief material among the flood-affected families taking shelter at Shivsagar Railway Station. After this, he paid obeisance at Gurudwara Sahib in Shivsagar and prayed for the well-being of the people of Assam. The actor also participated in the langar service and served food to the people with his own hands.
‘Humanity is above all’ – Randeep Hooda
Speaking to the media, Randeep Hooda said that for the past seven days his team has been delivering food to the affected families every day. He said, “Humanity is above all. We have been working closely with Global Sikhs for many years. I appeal to all people that wherever there is any kind of disaster, please help as per your capacity. As a human being, it is our duty to help other human beings.”
Relief kits being distributed to the needy
Randeep explained that his team first assessed the needs of the flood-affected areas. People are most in need of food, sleeping mattresses, tarpaulins, and daily essentials. With this in mind, relief kits are being prepared, and efforts are being made to reach those who have not yet received any assistance.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 82 people have died so far due to floods in the state. Lakhs of people have been affected by this disaster and relief and rehabilitation work is continuing in many areas. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed his gratitude to industrialist Gautam Adani. Adani has contributed Rs 11 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for flood relief and rehabilitation work. This will help in expediting the assistance and rehabilitation work of the affected families.
