Agreement signed between MCD-NDDB in the presence of Amit Shah

An important initiative was taken on Wednesday towards cleaning the Yamuna river and promoting scientific management of cow dung in Delhi. An important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) projects was signed between Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in the presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. The objective of this agreement is to scientifically dispose of cow dung and other organic waste in Delhi and produce Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG). On one hand, this will help in reducing pollution in Yamuna river, while on the other hand it will also promote the production of clean energy.

Delhi High Court serious on Sonam Wangchuk’s health

Delhi High Court, while hearing the PIL filed regarding the safety and health of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, has expressed concern about her health. Wangchuk has been sitting on hunger strike at Jantar Mantar for the last 19 days. During the hearing, the Solicitor General appeared in the court on behalf of the Central Government. He told the court that notice has already been issued in this matter. While hearing the case, the High Court directed that regular health check-ups of Sonam Wangchuk should be done by government doctors. The court said that based on the doctors’ report, immediate steps should be taken if necessary, because every person’s life is important.

56 special electric buses for women

The Delhi government has taken a big step towards making public transport more safe, convenient and reliable for women commuters of the capital. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is preparing to launch 56 electric bus services exclusively for women. These will include 30 Ladies Special Electric Buses for the convenience of working women and 26 University Ladies Special (U-SPL) Electric Buses for the safe movement of girl students.

Delhi Police head constable arrested : Delhi Police has arrested a head constable of its own department for alleged links with the notorious Tillu Tajpuria gang and demanding extortion worth crores of rupees. The accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar alias Makki, who was posted in the reserve battalion of Delhi Police. According to the police, preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was involved in an alleged conspiracy to threaten businessmen by using the name of the gang and extorting crores of rupees from them. Voter list revision deadline extended in Delhi: The Election Commission has extended the deadline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program of the ongoing voter list in Delhi. Now the final voter list in the capital will be published on October 19. Earlier this process was to be completed as per the pre-determined schedule. The Election Commission of India, in a letter sent to the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, said that the draft of the voter list will now be published on August 17 instead of August 5. At the same time, the process of door-to-door verification will also continue till August 8 instead of July 29. With this decision, the duration of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program in Delhi has been extended by 10 days. The court has allowed him to talk to his family through video call twice a week. Earlier, this facility was reduced to once a week by the jail administration. ED action on Delhi hospital: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action against Delhi-based Rocklands Hospitals Limited and seized its assets worth Rs 158 crore. The agency said that this action has been taken under anti-money laundering laws in a case related to financial fraud. According to ED, this action was taken on the basis of facts related to money laundering during the investigation.
