Bandhkam Kamgar Yojana 2026 : Government of Maharashtra has taken a very important step for social and economic security of building and other construction workers in the state. Revised welfare schemes have been approved for lakhs of workers registered under the Labor Welfare Board. Due to this new policy, the financial assistance to the families of the workers has been greatly increased, covering everything from health to higher education of the children. The state government has announced that these new laws and provisions have been implemented within the framework of the Social Security Code, 2020.
Great support to the family; 3.5 lakh rupees now on natural death
In case of natural death of an earlier registered construction worker, the assistance available to his family is limited. However, according to the new reform, this one-time financial assistance is now directly 3 lakh 50 thousand rupees has been done. Besides this, in case of accidental death of the workman while at work, Rs.6 lakh 50 thousand to his legal heirs will be given. 2 lakhs to enable the worker to sustain himself in case of total or partial disability due to accident. 60 thousand financial assistance for engineering courses
The educational assistance scheme has been expanded with the aim of enabling the children of workers to progress in higher education. The first two generations of registered workers will get this assistance at various stages in the education sector. In this, educational financial assistance of 60 thousand rupees per year will be given especially for engineering degree courses. Apart from this, at the school level, Rs 20,000 for passing 9th standard and Rs 25,000 for further education is included for passing 11th. Bandhkam Kamgar Yojana 2026
Commencement of pension every month
The state government has strengthened the pension scheme to facilitate the aging of workers. Workers who have completed 60 years of age and have at least 10 consecutive years of active registration with the Board will be eligible for this pension.
- Registration for 10 to 15 years: 6000 per annum
- 15 Years Full Registration : 9000 per annum Rs

Maternity benefit and other benefits for women workers
In this revised policy, special care has been taken for the health of women construction workers. 25000 for delivery to women registered with the Board So lump sum maternity allowance has been re-introduced. This assistance will be limited to the first two children. Apart from this, marriage assistance of Rs 30,000 for the first marriage of workers and mid-day meal at workplace will also continue. What to do to get the benefits?
To avail all these revised schemes the worker must be between 18 to 60 years of age and have a certificate of having worked in the construction sector for at least 90 days in the last 12 months.
