If you want to experience nature, wildlife, and historical heritage up close in a single trip, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) “MP Wildlife and Heritage Rail Tour” is a great option. This 8-night, 9-day tour covers many of Madhya Pradesh’s major tourist destinations. Package prices start at ₹33,700 per person. This tour includes both rail and road travel and includes hotel accommodation, transportation, meals, and travel insurance.

**Beauty of Madhya Pradesh**

Madhya Pradesh is renowned worldwide for its natural beauty, dense forests, historical monuments, and cultural heritage. Nestled between the Vindhya and Satpura mountain ranges, the state is also known for rivers such as the Narmada, Betwa, Chambal, Tapti, and Son. Its national parks are very popular among wildlife enthusiasts; Bandhavgarh National Park, in particular, is renowned for its white tigers.

**Places to visit**

This tour offers travelers the opportunity to visit Kanha, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Bandhavgarh, and Amarkantak. The tour begins from Kolkata’s Howrah Railway Station. The train departs every Saturday at 7:30 pm, and the return journey is also scheduled for Saturdays (although times may vary due to operational reasons). The package includes confirmed train tickets in 3AC class. Accommodation includes one night each in Kanha, Jabalpur, Bandhavgarh, and Amarkantak, and two nights in Khajuraho. An air-conditioned car will be provided for local sightseeing and transportation throughout the tour. Meals include breakfast for Jabalpur, Khajuraho, and Amarkantak, while breakfast and dinner are provided for Kanha and Bandhavgarh. Travel insurance and applicable taxes are also included in the package.

The fare for travel between May 1 and September 30, 2026 is ₹33,700 per person (based on three people sharing). The fare from October 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, will be ₹34,550 per person. Package prices vary depending on the sharing option. However, this package does not include additional expenses such as lunch, meals during the train journey, jungle safari, entry fees to the national park, boating, cultural programs, personal expenses, porter charges, mineral water, extra sightseeing, or transfer from Howrah station.
