What changed in Ather Rizta and 450 series?

Before this official update, Ather Rizta used only battery packs with NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) chemistry. Customers earlier had two options of 2.9kWh NMC and 3.7kWh NMC. Now the company has changed this by introducing 2.7kWh LFP battery pack in the smaller battery variant of Rizta. Despite the technically reduced capacity, the company claims that its certified IDC range will remain intact at 123 kilometers.

On the other hand, the capacity of the larger battery variant has been reduced from 3.7kWh to 3.5kWh (NMC). However, due to better tuning, its range has increased from 159 kilometers to 161 kilometers. In the sporty 450 series too, the 3.7kWh pack has been changed to 3.5kWh NMC, whose range will remain at 161 km. Apart from this, the company has recently launched the 450X Overtones series in the market and has also released a new voice command feature for 450X, 450 Apex and Rizta Z.

Official statement and technical side

“LFP battery packs offer better thermal stability and longer life cycle. This step has been taken keeping in mind the supply chain and technical efficiency. Better technology is being offered to Delhi consumers without any reduction in range.”

What will be the impact on vehicle owners and new buyers?

This update is very important for customers planning to buy electric scooter in Delhi-NCR. After the new change, the availability of LFP or NMC cells in the scooters available at the showroom will completely depend on the supply of the company. The most reassuring thing is that even after this change in battery capacity, there has been no change in the price, warranty and performance of the scooters. Along with this, with the help of the new 900W portable charger, now it will take only 3 hours 12 minutes to charge these scooters from 0 to 80 percent instead of 4 hours 30 minutes, which will save a lot of time for daily commuters.
