Major action by police, four smugglers and militants including declared criminals of NCB arrested
Imphal. Manipur Police and security forces on Friday arrested a proclaimed offender of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), two alleged drug smugglers, a ganja smuggler and an active member of the banned militant organization SOREPA during operations conducted in different parts of the state.
Police arrested Mohammad Aamir Khan alias Rehman, resident of Moising Wangmataba Chingya Leikai of Thoubal district, on the request of Additional Director, Delhi Zonal Unit of NCB. He was a declared offender in an NCB case registered under the NDPS Act.
In another operation, the police arrested Mohd., resident of Lilong Leihaokhong Leinung Hotel Manning of Thoubal district. Zakir Hussain (44) alias Tomba was arrested from his house.
Cough syrup containing codeine, P-Nietra-10 (probably N-10) tablets and Trospas Plus capsules were recovered from his possession.
Konjengbam Kulla Singh (47) was arrested from Lamkhai market area of Jiribam district. About 56.8 kg of ganja was recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested Yumnam Naresh Singh alias Kakpa (26), an active member of banned militant organization Sorepa, from Thoubal Haokha area of Thoubal district. Police said that further legal action and investigation is underway in all the cases.
