India vs Zimbabwe 1st T20I: Indian captain Shreyas Iyer (Shreyas Iyer T20I Toss Record) won the toss and decided to bowl first in the first match of the three-match T20 International series against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club on Thursday (July 23).
Dhoni left behind
With this toss win, Shreyas Iyer has set a unique record. He has now reached the top spot for most consecutive toss wins as an Indian captain. This is his eighth consecutive T20 International toss win as captain.
He made his captaincy debut in the T20I series against Ireland last month and then led the side in the five-match T20I series against England, winning the toss in all seven matches.
In this match, he left behind former captain MS Dhoni, who had won seven consecutive T20 International matches between 2010 and 2012.

The first captain in the world to do so
Shreyas became the first captain in T20I history to win the toss in his first eight consecutive matches. Eoin Morgan, Tom Latham, and Nazmul Hossain Shanto all won the toss in their first seven T20Is as captains.
