Cuttack: President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the Jagadguru Kripalu University in Cuttack, Odisha on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, she said universities should create an environment where young people can fully develop their talents and realise their dreams and aspirations.

The President said that Odisha is a land of knowledge, culture, spirituality, and a rich tradition of service. This sacred land of Lord Jagannath has for centuries preached the message of inclusion, compassion, and human welfare. He added that the Cuttack region has also been the birthplace and work place of many great personalities.
Cuttack’s legacy is associated with great personalities
Draupadi Murmu said that Cuttack is the birthplace of such great personalities as “Utkal Gaurav” Madhusudan Das, “Karmaveer” Gaurishankar Ray, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and Biju Patnaik. It has also been the work place of “Utkalmani” Pandit Gopabandhu Das and “Utkal Kesari” Dr. Harekrishna Mahtab. She said that Cuttack’s contributions in the fields of public service, literature, and culture have been significant and inspiring.
