National Film Awards: The most prestigious National Film Awards of the Indian film industry have been announced on Saturday (July 18). The list of selected artists and films for the 72nd edition has been released. Kartik Aryan has received the Best Actor Award for the film Chandu Champion. At the same time, the brilliant actor of Malayalam film industry, Mammootty has been awarded the Best Actor Award for Brahmayugam. Both the actors have been selected jointly. At the same time, Bollywood actress Yami Gautam has received the Best Actress award for Article 370.

Sanjeev Srivastava has been given the Best Film Critic award for his deep understanding of the Indian film industry. Randeep Hooda, director of the film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, released in the year 2024, has been given the award for the best debut director.

How was the selection process completed?

For the 72nd National Film Awards, those films have been included which were granted certificates by the Censor Board between January 1 and December 31, 2024. There was a jury of 11 members for the selection of winners and films. It was presided over by producer Jayaraj. He had been a part of it in the year 2012.
