Jitan Ram Manjhi Statement: ‘I do not worship’, God

Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Bihar Jitan Ram Manjhi has once again given a frank statement regarding worship and God. He said that no one has seen God, hence he himself does not perform puja and he does not find it appropriate to do so just to show it to the world.

Went: Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Bihar Jitan Ram Manjhi has spoken openly about his personal beliefs regarding God, worship and the role of parents. During an event in Gaya district, Manjhi said that he has not seen God, hence he does not personally offer prayers. He said that performing religious rituals just for the sake of show to the world or for his own satisfaction does not matter to him.

However, Manjhi described his parents as God to him. He said that his parents worked under difficult circumstances, educated him and gave him the opportunity to move ahead in life. According to him, it was only because of the blessings and struggle of his parents that he could reach important positions like Chief Minister and later Minister in the Central Government.

‘I don’t believe in God, that’s why I don’t worship’

In his address, Jitan Ram Manjhi said that a large number of people in the world have faith in God, but they themselves have not seen God directly. For this reason he does not perform regular puja. Manjhi said he believes that if a person does not respect and serve his parents, but only performs religious rituals, then such worship has no real meaning. Describing his views as a personal belief, he said that respecting the parents should be given top priority.

After his statement came out, discussion has started in political and social circles. However, Manjhi has also been known for his outspoken opinions on religion, faith and social issues in the past.

‘Parents are true God for me’

Recalling the struggles of his life, Jitan Ram Manjhi said that his family was very weak financially. His parents supported the family by working as laborers and worked hard for their children’s education. He said that the contribution of his parents is the most important reason behind where he is today.

According to Manjhi, he had never imagined that he would become the Chief Minister of Bihar or hold the responsibility of a Union Minister in the Government of India. He credits these achievements to the struggle and blessings of his parents. He said that for him, honoring his parents and serving them is more important than any religious ritual. Because of this thinking, he gives priority to honoring the memory of his ancestors and parents.

Unveiling of statues of ancestors at ancestral home

Manjhi’s remarks came during a program organized in his native area. He unveiled the statues of his ancestors at his ancestral home in Atari area. During the program, he also appeared emotional while remembering the struggle of his family and parents. He said that the difficult life his parents faced cannot be forgotten. He stressed the need to preserve the memory of our ancestors and tell future generations about their contributions.

Apart from his son and Bihar government minister Santosh Kumar Suman, many leaders of his party Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), MLAs, workers and local social representatives were present in this program.

Mention of family struggle in political life

Jitan Ram Manjhi’s political journey has been very important in the politics of Bihar. He has been the Chief Minister of the state and is currently a minister in the Central Government. In his address, he said that the hard work and struggle of his family has played a big role in his life’s achievements. While expressing his views, Manjhi also linked service and respect to parents with social responsibility. He said that a person should express gratitude towards his/her parents and remember their contribution.
