Big news in Bihar! Now emergency services will be available throughout the night in district hospitals

Patna. Bihar government is continuously taking steps towards making the health services of the state more effective and accessible. In this context, preparations have now been made to strengthen emergency medical services in district hospitals even at night. After the implementation of the new system, serious patients will be able to get necessary treatment even late at night, which will reduce the need to immediately refer them to hospitals in big cities.

Specialist doctors will be available even at night

Under the new system, night duty of specialist doctors will be ensured in district hospitals. Special attention will be given to the availability of specialists in General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics and Gynecology and Obstetrics. Along with this, trained nurses, paramedical staff and technical staff will also be deployed, so that in case of any emergency, treatment can be started immediately.

Emergency services will get further strength

The Health Department is working on a plan to provide adequate stock of essential medicines in hospitals as well as to improve testing facilities and life-saving equipment. The aim is to ensure that treatment of serious patients can begin without any unnecessary delay.

there will be less need for referral

Often, due to non-availability of specialist doctors at night, patients have to be sent to Patna or other medical college hospitals. This delays treatment and sometimes the patient’s condition becomes critical. After the implementation of the new system, the number of unnecessary referrals is expected to reduce by providing primary and necessary treatment in the district hospitals itself.

These patients will get the most benefits

The biggest benefits of this initiative are likely to be given to people injured in road accidents, heart attack patients, pregnant women, newborns and seriously ill children. In such cases, the first few hours are very important and timely treatment can lead to better results.

Pressure on medical college hospitals will also reduce

When better emergency services are available in the district hospitals, a large number of patients can be treated locally. This will reduce unnecessary pressure on medical college hospitals and serious cases can be treated better there.
