Moses Moody Hoping To Resume On-Court Work In September

Warriors guard/forward Moses Moody is hoping to resume running and on-court work in September, according to Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic, who reports that the 24-year-old has been rehabbing in the Bay Area this offseason.

Moody suffered a torn left patellar tendon in late March and underwent surgery to address the major knee injury a few days later.

Of course, just because Moody is targeting sometime next month to resume those activities doesn’t mean he’ll be available once the 2026/27 regular season tips off in late October. Still, it’s encouraging that he seems to be making progress in his recovery.

Thompson’s story is largely centered on Stephen Curry traveling to Little Rock, Arkansas — Moody’s hometown — at his teammate’s request to attend a golf tournament and basketball camp run by Moody’s foundation. The event took place in late July.

As Thompson writes, Moody has long been held in high regard by Curry and the Warriors organization and the superstar guard’s decision to attend Moody’s event is emblematic of the bond the two have developed over the years.

Even though there is a 15-year-old age gap,” Curry said, “which is crazy because he feels like the same age. Sometimes he feels older than me, for sure.

Just his curiosity for life. The questions he has. Just the spirit he has. And that was from Day 1. … And you kind of understand it means so much to him to be able to have this weekend and this presence here. When he asked me, it was kind of a no-brainer. What makes it even more special is how invested he is, and his family is, in the work they’re doing here.”

Moody was in the midst of the best season of his NBA career at the time of the injury. His 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 steal per game all represented career highs, as did his 40.1% three-point percentage. He started 49 of the 60 games he played for Golden State in 2025/26, averaging 25.7 minutes per night.
