OPPO A7 Pro Max Launch: Top 10000mAh Phone at CNY 2,199

If battery anxiety is the one thing that still makes you hesitate before buying a new phone, OPPO’s newest budget device is built to make that a non-issue. OPPO officially launched the A7 Pro Max 5G in China today, August 4, confirmed through the company’s own China product listing and corroborated by Gizmochina and GSMArena. It’s the first OPPO phone to pack a 10,000mAh battery, arriving with pricing that starts well below $350.

The launch follows a steady stream of official teasers from OPPO over the past week, confirming specs piece by piece ahead of today’s full reveal, including the launch date, color options, and camera details.

What OPPO Has Confirmed

The headline feature is unmistakably the battery. OPPO’s 10,000mAh single-cell silicon-carbon pack supports 80W SuperVOOC and 80W UFCS wired fast charging, along with 27W wired reverse charging for topping up other devices. OPPO says the cell retains at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,500 full charge cycles, which the company translates into roughly seven years of battery durability based on one full charge cycle every two days.

On performance, the A7 Pro Max holds a genuine first: it’s the world’s first commercially available phone running Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, built on TSMC’s 4nm process with an octa-core CPU pairing two 2.4GHz Cortex-A78 cores with six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores, alongside an Adreno G629 GPU. The chip is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, without microSD expansion support.

Display and Cameras

The A7 Pro Max’s 6.78-inch flexible AMOLED display runs a 2772×1272 resolution with 10-bit color depth, full 100% DCI-P3 gamut coverage, and intelligent switching between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz refresh rates. Peak brightness reaches 1,800 nits, and the panel supports a 330Hz touch-sampling rate in select gaming scenarios.

Camera specs stay modest, in line with the phone’s mid-range positioning. The rear setup pairs a 50MP main sensor at f/1.8 with autofocus and two-axis OIS, alongside a 2MP monochrome secondary lens at f/2.4. Up front, a 50MP selfie camera at f/2.0 covers an unusually wide roughly 100-degree field of view, wider than the typical single-shooter front camera found at this price point.

Colors, Storage, and Software

OPPO is selling the A7 Pro Max in three finishes: Wave Rider, Orange Glow, and Mountain Black, with the blue and orange variants featuring a distinctive 3D embossed rear texture. Storage spans three configurations: 8GB+128GB at CNY 2,199, 12GB+256GB at CNY 2,699, and 12GB+512GB at CNY 2,999. The phone ships on ColorOS 16, built on Android 16, and OPPO says it has passed the company’s 72-month aging smoothness test, with software optimizations aimed at reducing memory usage during startup and everyday use.

Where This Might Go Next

OPPO hasn’t announced any market beyond China for the A7 Pro Max, but industry speculation points to a possible rebadge as the OPPO F35 Pro for markets like India, following a pattern OPPO and its sister brands have used repeatedly this year to bring China-market hardware to other regions under different naming. Nothing about that rebadge theory is confirmed, and OPPO hasn’t indicated a timeline for any expansion beyond its home market.

What to Watch Next

With today’s China launch complete, the clearest next signal will be whether OPPO confirms international availability, and under what name, given the F35 Pro speculation already circulating. It’s also worth watching how the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5’s real-world performance holds up against rivals now that OPPO has become the first brand to actually ship it, rather than just benchmark it ahead of launch.
