He said, “Who would have a problem with Vande Mataram? I have no problem with it. If your government enforces a law, that’s your right. Who should care about Vande Mataram?” Continuing his argument, Shami said, “If your country’s law says something, you have to obey it. What’s the problem with that?” He added, “I’ve said this many times that I’m not afraid of anyone. I’m only afraid of myself.”
