Amritsar Police Busts ISI Terror Module: Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, was planning a bomb blast during the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Minors were to be used for this purpose. They were also provided with petrol bombs, waiting for the signal to detonate. However, the protest ended before that could happen. This disclosure was made by the Amritsar Police of Punjab.
Amritsar Police has busted two ISI-backed terror modules. Nine accused have been arrested, including four minors and five adults. Most of the members of the petrol bomb module were minors. Police believe this support was provided by an ISI handler based in Pakistan. Eight members of the group also visited the protest site at Jantar Mantar.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that two ISI-backed terror modules have been busted and their entire network has been dismantled. A total of 9 accused have been arrested, including 4 minors and 5 adults. One module was installing cameras above the railway tracks. The camera feeds were to be sent across the border. Police obtained timely information and arrested the accused along with the cameras. The cameras and other expenses were arranged through hawala.
Trained to throw petrol bombs
The second module was trained by ISI handlers to make and throw petrol bombs. During the training, they were also instructed to conduct reconnaissance for attacks on police and other security institutions. These 8 individuals also participated in the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar. They provided local support and petrol bombs and other materials. However, they were not successful in carrying out their plans.
