The state government is now focusing on the protection of forest areas. Fully armed police forces are going to be deployed. There are multiple forest areas in different parts of the state. At least 500 police personnel will be deployed to protect all those areas. The forest department wants to keep these police personnel on deputation until forest personnel are recruited. The state forest department has sent a proposal to the Chief Minister in this regard. State Forest Minister Manoj Kumar Oraon has informed this news. After the new recruitment process in the state police is completed, it is also learned that a part of the newly recruited police personnel is being considered for the protection of forest areas.
Chief Minister Shuvendu Adhikari has announced the recruitment of several vacant posts, starting with the police. That process has also begun.
In this regard, state Forest Minister Manoj Kumar Oraon said, “We will ask the state police for 500 police personnel to protect the forest areas. We want to take state police constables and SIs on deputation. These armed police personnel will be kept for the protection of the forest areas until new forest personnel are recruited. We have already sent such a proposal to the Chief Minister. We will implement this system as soon as we get the green signal from the Chief Minister. Because there are many vacant posts in the forest department. We want to ensure the protection of the forest areas with police personnel until we are recruited.”
It is necessary to say that various posts of the Forest Department are lying vacant in various forest areas across the state. Since the previous Trinamool government, all those vacancies have not been filled. Although the situation has been changing since the change in the state government. Chief Minister Shuvendu Adhikari has announced the appointment of several vacancies starting from the police. That process has also started. In the meantime, the Forest Department is on the way to taking big steps to protect the forest areas.
