BCCI Invites Bids for Title Sponsorship Rights as IDFC FIRST Bank Deal Nears Expiry

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has opened the bidding process for the title sponsorship of its international and domestic home events on Monday. The current deal with IDFC FIRST Bank will terminate later this year.

As per the media release made by the BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, an Invitation to Tender (ITT) has been released, inviting eligible bidders to compete for one of the most prestigious sponsorship deals in Indian sport. Interested parties would have to pay a processing fee of ₹1 lakh plus GST to access the ITT document.

Bidding Process for the Rights of Title Sponsorship of BCCI

Interested bidders can buy the ITT document till August 4. The deadline to seek clarifications has been kept on August 5. Bids are invited for the title sponsorship of home matches, which includes all the domestic and international fixtures.

The BCCI clarified that the invitation to tender (ITT) document, which contains eligibility criteria and detailed terms and conditions, would be released only after receipt of the ITT fee by the Board. Apart from that, the BCCI mentioned that buying the ITT document does not guarantee qualification for inviting the bidders to the tender process. Only those entities that qualify for the eligibility criteria will be permitted to participate in the bidding for the title sponsorship.

The winning entity of the title sponsorship will enjoy the exclusive rights to sponsor across BCCI’s international and domestic home fixtures. This includes the matches of the men’s and women’s Indian teams, which comprise Test, ODI, and T20I formats. Furthermore, it also encompasses premier domestic tournaments like the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Irani Cup, and several other age-group competitions.

Current title sponsorship belongs to IDFC FIRST Bank, which signed a five-year deal with the BCCI in September. The deal is proposed to end in August 2026.

IDFC FIRST Bank retains the title sponsorship, whereas Apollo Tires will continue with their position as Team India’s official lead and jersey sponsors.

Bidding process for associate partner rights of the BCCI

Additionally, the BCCI announced the associate partner rights of its domestic and international home matches. The process for the associate partner rights is different from the one for the title sponsorship. In this process, the eligible companies that are interested in the associate partner rights of the BCCI can bid for them.

The companies willing to participate in the associate partner rights will be required to buy the RFQ document. However, they will have to pay a processing fee of ₹1 lakh plus GST. The document can be bought until August 14, and the deadline to request clarification has been kept on August 16. Furthermore, the interested bidders should submit their quotes by August 25.

The RFQ document will also be shared only after the processing fees have been received by the BCCI. The board reserved the right to cancel the tender, amend or change any of its processes, without assigning any reasons.

Both the RFQ and ITT tenders are a part of the BCCI’s new cycle of commercial rights. They will help it to identify potential future title sponsors for India’s home international matches and its premier domestic tournaments.
