New Delhi .Filmmaker and writer Karan Razdan has made a big revelation about Time Machine, which is included in Bollywood’s most popular but incomplete films. This film was to be made under the direction of director Shekhar Kapur in which Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla were to be seen in the lead roles. This film, which combines science fiction and Indian mythological history, was considered to be the most ambitious project of that era, but due to many reasons this film could never reach the screen.

Karan Razdan told that the story of Time Machine was based on the character of Aamir Khan who accidentally reaches the past through a machine where the Mahabharata war is going on. There he meets Lord Krishna and becomes an eyewitness to the greatest war in history. This unique idea had initially excited the entire team.

He told that he and Shekhar Kapur got inspiration for this story from an emotional incident in their personal lives. Both of them had lost their parents within a short span of time and often wished they could go back in time and meet them once again. This feeling gave birth to the story of the time machine. The entire story, script and dialogues were prepared in just three months.

Shekhar Kapur was so excited about this project that he also associated composer Laxmikant Pyarelal and lyricist Anand Bakshi with it. The story was also narrated to Aamir Khan, Paresh Rawal and other actors and everyone appreciated its imagination and theme. At that time, this film could have brought a big change in Indian cinema at the technical and story level.

Karan Razdan also revealed that many big producers wanted to make this film. He also sent the script to Dharma Productions head Karan Johar but he was offered only twenty-five lakh rupees in exchange for the script. According to Razdan, he felt that the price for such a big and unique story was very low, hence the matter could not proceed further. Later, producer Firoz Nadiadwala also tried to restart the project but could not agree on the direction. Rajkumar Santoshi’s name also came up but Razdan believed that it was not a film of his genre.

Today, when big budget films based on science fiction and mythology are being made in Indian cinema, Time Machine remaining incomplete is considered a big mistake. If this film had been made in its time, it is possible that its name would have been included in the most memorable films of Indian cinema. These revelations that came to light after years have once again brought this incomplete dream project into the center of discussion.
