New Delhi. Today, high voltage drama of the opposition was seen in Delhi when Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and SP President Akhilesh Yadav sat on a dharna near the PM’s residence. However, all three have been taken into custody by the police. Whereas Union Minister Jitendra Singh has accused Rahul Gandhi of going back on his words. The Union Minister said that when Rahul Gandhi and other leaders of the Congress Party suddenly sat on a dharna near Akbar Road, I and Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, on behalf of the government, went to talk to them. The Union Minister said that I requested Rahul Gandhi to end his protest, because this is not the place to protest, and people are being inconvenienced by protesting here. On this, Rahul Gandhi put forward a demand that if the government agrees to discuss in the Parliament the NEET exam leak issue and all the issues related to it and the movement related to it, then he will end his strike immediately.

Jitendra Singh said that within a few moments, after taking permission from the top leadership of the government, Rahul Gandhi was assured that his demand has been accepted, and the government is ready to discuss in Parliament all the issues related to NEET and its related movement. When this information was conveyed to Rahul Gandhi, he retracted his statement and said that now I have two demands, discussion in Parliament and resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. When he was reminded that earlier he had only demanded discussion, he said that now his demands have changed. When an attempt was made to politely explain to him that it does not suit a senior leader like him to go back on his words so quickly, he said that it was his choice.

When the Home Secretary tried to explain that these places were not suitable for dharna, his reply was that it was also his choice to sit in dharna wherever he wanted. The Union Minister said that it is unfortunate for a senior leader like Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, to go back on his word and is contrary to every dignity of democracy. The government is ready to discuss in Parliament all the issues related to NEET and its related movement. On the contrary, till date the Congress Party has not given any notice for formal discussion on this serious issue as per rules. Rahul Gandhi’s behavior does not match the principles of democracy.
