Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold design revealed, launching on August 12, know what is special

Technology Desk: Google has revealed the official design of its new foldable smartphone, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. This phone will be launched at the Made by Google event on August 12th. The company will also introduce the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL at the same event. The Pixel Watch 5 and new Pixel Buds are also expected to be launched.

What changed in the design?

According to the teaser released by Google, the design of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold appears to be largely similar to the previous model, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, though there are some changes to the camera module.

The phone features a square-shaped camera platform on the back, but the pill-shaped cutouts for the two camera lenses appear larger this time around. This gives the camera module a new look. The Google ‘G’ logo is located in the center of the back panel.

The power button and volume buttons are located on the right side of the phone. The speaker grille and microphone cutout are also visible at the top. The company has teased a new green color, which is said to be Olive Green or Pine Finish.

Pixel Glow feature not showing

The new Pixel Glow design element that’s been touted for the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro isn’t visible on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Google hasn’t revealed many details about Pixel Glow at this time. Full details are expected to be revealed during the launch event.

There will be special focus on AI features

Google has been steadily working on AI features in its Pixel smartphones for the past few years. The company may also add several new Gemini AI features to the Pixel 11 series.

According to reports, new AI features will make photo editing easier than ever. Live translation, calling experiences, and many everyday tasks could become smarter and faster. Google aims to further strengthen its smartphones’ AI-powered experiences.

When will it be available in India?

The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold will be launched in several global markets, including India, on August 12. Following the launch, pre-orders for the Pixel 11 series are expected to begin in India via Flipkart.

Possible displays

According to leaked reports, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could feature an approximately 8-inch foldable OLED display on the inside. The outside is expected to feature a 6.4-inch OLED cover screen. Both displays are expected to come with a high refresh rate for better color reproduction and a smoother experience.

Processor and storage

The phone is expected to feature Google’s new Tensor G6 processor, along with the Titan M3 security co-processor, which will improve data security.

According to reports, the phone could come with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage, making multitasking and using large apps easier.

Camera Setup

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup.

48-megapixel primary camera
10.5-megapixel ultra-wide camera
10.8-megapixel periscope telephoto camera

The phone is expected to feature dual front cameras for selfies and video calling. One will be located on the cover display and the other on the inside of the foldable screen. Both are expected to be 10-megapixel cameras.

The entire Pixel ecosystem will be stronger

This time, Google is preparing to strengthen not just its smartphones, but its entire Pixel ecosystem. The Pixel Watch 5 and new Pixel Buds, which will be coming with the Pixel 11 series, could be designed to work seamlessly with each other. This could provide users with a better experience with calls, notifications, fitness tracking, audio, and AI features.
