Adam Sandler has a quirky pool habit that even his family cannot stop laughing about, according to his daughter, Sunny Sandler.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sunny shared a humorous story about how she and her sister used to imitate their father’s everyday mannerisms when they were younger.
“My mom tells a story from when I was younger,” Sunny said. “Me and my sister, we dressed up in his clothes, before that was popular and cool. The big shirts, the shorts, we held Diet Cokes and yelled about the air conditioning being off. And then we jumped in the pool with our socks on.”
She then revealed the reason behind the unusual detail.
“He wears his socks in the pool because he can’t bend to take them off on land,” Sunny explained.
Host Jimmy Fallon was unconvinced by the claim, responding, “That is not true at all. He’s the funniest dude ever.”
“I swear it’s true!” Sunny replied.
Fallon then asked, “So he jumps in the pool with his socks and then floats his feet up to take them off?”
“Yes, and then he’ll drain them,” Sunny said, “and then you play catch with them.”
While there is no public evidence of Sandler’s unconventional swimming routine, the actor has previously been seen wearing socks and shoes in a pool scene in Billy Madison, though he appeared barefoot during the water park sequence in Grown Ups.
