Rapido Ride Viral Video: Questions have once again been raised about women’s safety during bike taxi services in Delhi. In a video going viral on social media, a young woman claims that the driver was allegedly watching inappropriate videos during her night ride booked with Rapido. According to the woman, she had booked the bike ride from Safdarjung to Model Town at around 8:48 pm.
When the bike stopped at a traffic signal, a woman on another bike nearby signaled to alert the driver that he was watching an obscene video on his mobile phone. The woman claims that the driver immediately hid his phone as soon as he realized he was being watched. However, this claim has not been independently verified.

The woman explained in the video that she wasn’t fully aware of the route and still had about half an hour to reach her destination. Therefore, she didn’t argue until the journey was complete. Upon reaching her destination, she asked the driver what he was watching, to which he reportedly replied that he was watching “foreign videos.”
The woman reprimanded him, saying her family was on their way. She also alleged that she tried to contact Rapido’s safety team throughout the trip, but received no immediate assistance. Later, when the video went viral on social media, the company offered to contact them in the comments section.
Questions raised about women’s safety after the video
After the video surfaced, people on social media expressed concern about the safety of female passengers. Many users said that the app’s emergency and safety features should be activated immediately in such situations. Some shared their experiences, claiming that the company took action against the driver the next day after receiving complaints.
While Rapido has yet to officially confirm its actions or provide a detailed statement, experts advise women to immediately seek help from a helpline, emergency contact, or the police in any unsafe situation.
