Parliament proceedings took place with a bang in the very first minute! Know why the government and the opposition came face to face?

The third day of the monsoon session of Parliament has got off to a stormy start. As soon as the House proceedings began, the opposition created a huge uproar over the serious issues of NEET question paper leak issue, police action against students protesting at Jantar Mantar and police clash with Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and other MPs. Due to this loud uproar, the proceedings of both the houses of the country – Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha – had to be adjourned till 12 noon.

Lok Sabha Speaker’s appeal ineffective, House adjourned within a minute

As soon as the Parliament proceedings began, the opposition MPs started raising slogans regarding their demands. The Lok Sabha Speaker appealed to all the opposition members to maintain peace and said that the government is fully ready to hold open discussions on all important issues including the NEET paper leak issue.

The Speaker urged to run the proceedings of the House smoothly and present his views through discussion. Despite this, the opposition members remained adamant on their insistence and continued raising slogans. Due to this huge disruption of the uproar, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 12 noon within just a minute of its commencement.

Heavy noise continued in Rajya Sabha also

On the other hand, the situation was exactly similar in the Upper House i.e. Rajya Sabha also. The Chairman repeatedly requested the opposition members to return to their seats and participate in the discussion as per parliamentary rules.

The Chairman clearly said that the House is fully available to discuss important issues of the country, but the opposition MPs did not step back from their sloganeering and uproar. Due to continuous noise and commotion in the House, the proceedings of Rajya Sabha also had to be adjourned within a few minutes till 12 noon.
